I took this picture from my office on Canada Day. These are the "SAILS" you see in every tourist picture of Vancouver.
I have been extremely busy lately. Good busy... you know, the ones that are about moving forward and not about wallowing in the past (trust me, I have had my share of wallowing).
I recently took on the role of Chairman of the Young President's Organization (YPO), British Columbia. YPO's website states it is the world's most powerful network. I can definitely say that the organization has had a significant impact on my life so this is one way for me to give back. I also find this role very rewarding as you get to meet and learn from some of the most interesting, driven and creative people around.
On top of this, I have been helping on a political campaign, working with a university on different financial initiatives, exploring at least three different business ventures, expanding our current businesses, plus trying to live a balanced life (who am i kidding) ... and, in the middle of all this, I had scheduled to get my teeth "prepped" for veneers (I will blog about this next week).
Why am I rambling...the busier one gets, the more important TIME becomes. I increasingly find myself not wanting to waste the precious resource on activities that don't lead to a sense of growth - whether it be personal, business or family, Especially when you have multiple options for each activity.
And whatever the activity, I asses the people first. Do I want to spend time with these folks or not?
Isaac Newton once said: To Arrive At The Simplest Truth Requires Years Of Contemplation
Soooooooo.....after years of contemplation, I am reminded: It is all about the people silly!
