Being Blunt
One of my biggest pet peeves ever is something I call Back Talk - saying something in front of you and saying something else behind your back.
I see this often in business. The first time I get involved in any meeting, someone always asks afterwards "What did he really mean?". It makes me smile. Why did we have the meeting in the first place if people were not going to talk about the issues openly? Nowadays, I actually ask people to be honest with me. I will express exactly what I think and feel and I expect that the teams that work directly with me do the same. It just makes work life so simple that way. But then again, simpler said than done :).
Can you imagine if we practiced the same rules in our personal life?
I saw this on FB and thought it communicated my thoughts as well as I could ever.
We only have one life...why complicate it?
