Time Flies
Time flies. It's up to you to be the navigator.
Robert Orben
A few things happened recently that made me think of this.
I became a year older - and was going through my memories as part of my annual reflection process - the sights, sounds, scents ... and how I often feel that I have not squeezed enough juice out of the fruit of life.
I was contacted by a friend (it never ceases to amaze me - the power of random google searches) that I had not seen in over a decade - we connected and it made me think how time has flown.
The people that I interview for roles in our organization - so many of them seem to be bouncing from one life experience to another with no clear destination in mind.
More than ever, I see that time really does fly by! It is up to each of us to have a goal or destination in mind by which to "navigate" how we use this precious resource. I have also seen that, for most people, pinning down what those goals are IS the hardest part. Whatever they may be.
If you are one of those with no clear destination in mind, try and find a mentor to help you. Because what I have seen is - years down the road - wasted time leads to a lot of regret.
Regret that you did not connect with someone, regret that you did not achieve something, regret that you wasted away a precious resource.
But then again, what do I know? I'm just a guy making my way in this world.
