Happy New Year!!!

Welcome 2012!!

Where do I begin with this week’s blog?

Well, lets start with the Christmas Holidays.  More than any other year, I decided to appreciate the spirit of Christmas without getting caught up in the shopping, parties or consumerism that stresses many this time of year.  In fact, I did hardly any shopping and spent time with people who are near and dear to me.  It has been a very positive experience (apologies to anyone in retail).  Instead, I have tried to reflect on what happened in 2011, and where I want to go in 2012.

The way I did that reflection is:

1.     What are the things I want to do before my time on this world is over – yes, my bucket list.  Random things as well as serious things.  Some are:

a.     Learn to play the guitar (already had my first lesson shortly before Christmas, and have practiced every day since then).  My goal is to be able to play a very personal song for a particular person in my life.

b.     Paint an oil painting – I have a concept in mind already.

c.      The rest is for me to know J.  The point is if you don’t have a list, make one!

2.     Then I reflected on where my business and personal life was 5 years ago, where I am now, and where I want to be 5 years from now.  I write it down. Let it stew.  Write the steps down to achieve the 5-year goal.  And review it quarterly. It works well for me. Simple but effective.

As 2012 begins, one of the things I am reviewing is whether or not to continue with this blog.  My goal was to be able to keep it up until the end of 2011.  Here we are…

Tell you what…lets run a survey.  Click the Like button if you think I should keep going.  I will use your feedback to decide.

In the meantime, all the best for 2012.  Just remember, if you don’t know where you are going, any road will take you there!

BTW.  I received only two Christmas presents this year.  One was a gift card and the other was from my sister, who lives in Spain.  She gave me a pair of Le Chameau rubber gumboots – and these things are awesome!!!  I love them sis!  Especially since, over the holidays, I just moved into a country home complete with a barn :)

You are welcome. I am glad these boots could go to a loving home where they will have a lot of space to get muddy!
